I've had an amazing life.  And I'm very grateful. I've designed interesting buildings, illustrated fantastical architecture, built custom and luxury homes with my own hands, sculpted, painted, created stained glass; I felt I've been blessed with many creative gifts.

My work includes the Harvester Golf Course Clubhouse, condominiums, various commercial projects, religious institutions, and some of the most interesting work that a designer and artist can do.

I've had the pleasure of consulting with people who encourage big ideas.  There are no limits and I've been very kindly told that nothing I do is ever average.

Commissions are very important to me, I seek to provide the highest level of excellence and meaning possible in every project.  I've been very interested in the potential for site specific fine art.  I have felt that it is very important to create work that is meaningful, and inclusive.  I'm also very concerned that my work achieves more than a simple perception of value, rather, I am interested in projects that inspire, and motivate the best that is in each of us.

As both a designer and an artist, and as someone who is well aware of the hard realities of building, I am ideally suited to be aware of the key elements that will maximize the impact of the work that I do.

I invite you to follow the work that I'm creating now for the Peoria United Methodist church in Maxwell Iowa. www.dickshook.com/peoria/

This is a project that brings to life fellowship and friendship, unity and love within a congregation situated around the imagery of the tree of life.

I've created a journal, video, computer model, support materials, reference album, e-mail notification system, and other features to assist this small congregation in their participation and visualization of this wonderful project.

If you have a possible project, now would be a good time to invite me to work with you on a preliminary evaluation.  Please call today 515.228.3217 or refer to my contact page.  References are available upon request
