For me, a playground represents a microcosm of our larger community. I personnally feel very grateful that we make these spaces and are able to use them. Especially as we often spend more and more time indoors.
Playgrounds provide important opportunities for interaction between parents and children. We make sure our children are safe as they play and we help them to understand how to be safe in the ways they use playground equipment, and how they share that equipment with other children.
In a way, a playground also represents some of the risks of life which are always present. As much as we can we work to balance risk with the assurance that play can also be safe.
