Some of the simplest, least complicated, pleasures can be taking a long walk. Not fast, not slow. A chance to talk with someone you care about. A chance to explore the world outside your home and in your neighborhood. A chance to meet your neighbors.
Walking is a common activity in the town where I live. On almost any kind of day it's possible to take a walk, a promenade, greeting others who also enjoy the fresh air and the universe that is at our feet. Our conversations are just small talk about the weather or just to say, "nice evening!"
A walk can be as long or as short as it needs to be. Even very serious conversations shared during a walk can acquire an unexpected and hopeful optimism.
